Paragliding in the Peak District

A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, whose shape is formed by the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing. A hang glider is supported on a rigid frame which determines its shape and thus does not collapse in turbulence

The time it takes to learn to paraglide is roughly about 2 weeks depending of course how much time you put in during those weeks. It does involve some indoor sessions learning about flight theory. Of course you can just go out and fly in tandem with an experienced pilot without too much pre knowledge. The costs involved in learning to paraglide vary from school to school but don't expect much change from 1000. Equipment is also expensive but can be hired out or bought second hand.
