Our beautiful, 200 year old stone farmhouse is in a quiet, but not isolated location, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We are near the Linacre Valley and one mile to the eastern edge of The Peak District National Park. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Renishaw Gardens, not to mention Chesterfield and Sheffield are all within a 30 minute drive. Our Rooms Our 2 guest bedrooms have recently been refurnished to a high standard of comfort. The large Rose Room has either a Superking Bed or Twin Beds. It has an ensuite bathroom and lovely views. There is space for a cot or junior bed. The comfortable Orchid Room has Twin Beds, and a separate Private Bathroom, with both bath and shower. This room has lovely views. Rose Bedroom Orchid Room Both rooms have new flat screen TVs, radio/CD player, a hairdryer and a generous Hospitality Tray. Lounge at Cowclose Farm B&B Play area at Cowclose Farm B&B Our large Guest Lounge is available at any time. Guests are welcome to enjoy our lovely gardens. There is a playhouse and toys for young children. We are happy to serve tea and homemade cake in the afternoon/early evening. We are fortunate to have an excellent pub/restaurant very near. There are walks from the door to the peaceful Linacre Valley with its woods and reservoirs. We have maps and walks with instructions and our own photos. Breakfasts Our extensive breakfast menu is sourced from local and homemade produce. Our bacon and sausages come from a family farm, free-range eggs from the next village, plus our homemade preserves and homegrown seasonal fruit and tomatoes. Barbara makes her own salmon fish cakes. Fresh fruit salad is always available. Protecting our Environment We feel strongly about preserving this area of natural beauty, in which we are privileged to live. We try to recycle, save energy, use local produce and encourage wildlife. Our recent efforts include planting a new hedge, orchard, wildflower garden and digging a pond. We are happy to welcome Children, Walkers and Cyclists and provide facilities for them. Also, we have 2 holiday cottages available as Self Catering or for Bed And Breakfast Guests.
